The film and advertising industries have always been fascinating to many. With over three decades of precious experience in the field, Peter shared his practical experience in the book. About the Author:
Peter Chan is known as "Big Bro Peter" in the film industry. He graduated from the School of Communication at the then Hong Kong Baptist College in 1986 with a major in film studies. His proficiency in Cantonese, Putonghua, and English has facilitated his wide range of connection to production people from local, the Mainland, and overseas production support. Over the years, Peter has travelled around the world so as to strive for the best quality of his production works.

In order to enhance the authenticity of Japanese style for the baby care brand “Junichi”, our filming crews went all the way to Japan for shooting the "Junichi" product video. The studio was also set up with simplistic Japanese style.

Seminar on " Brand-building by Television Commercials (TVC)" :

We believe that television commercials are the ultimate weapons to brand-building. Hence, we have been invited by various organisations to be a speaker of seminars on "Brand-building by Television Commercials (TVC)" for owners and marketing people of well-known brands. Through providing case studies on TVCs of numerous international brands, we analysed the "Communication Strategy" and "Psychological Warfare Techniques" embedded in most TVCs while sharing to the audience the most effective means of communication and common mistakes made. It is important to bear in mind that while a good TVC can help to establish a brand, a lousy one can also destroy the brand irrevocably.

A one-day study trip in Guangzhou was arranged for Peter’s two groups of university students :

As a TVC director and a lecturer of Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Peter Chan offered the university students a one-day study trip in Guangzhou. They visited the famous Post Production House “天訊” and Film Studio “藝影”. The students had a fruitful trip thanks to Peter Chan’s good network.

 

The second TVC of Drainage Services Department was shot at Centre Street, Sai Wan :

For the second phase advertisement of DSD Northern Hong Kong Flood Prevention Project, Peter Chan devoted his heart and soul, in order to pursue the best result in terms of visual impact.

Drainage Services Department TVC shooting: the use of water trucks with road closure to emulate rain effect :

Peter Chan was shooting for the first stage advertisement of DSD Northern Hong Kong Flood Prevention Project. The shooting was a large scale production. To emulate the rain effect, several water trucks were used with the closure of road. The crew including the child actor all got wet. The professional attitude of the child actor was remarkable and respectful.
